NON-EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN - Julius Matthys
Mr Matthys has 35 years’ experience in the global minerals and mining industry and 5 years’ experience as an ASX listed company director. Mr Matthys has held senior executive positions within the BHP Billiton Group, including Operations President Worsley Alumina JV, Marketing Director Alumina, Aluminium and Iron Ore and Vice President Corporate Affairs W.A.
Mr Matthys is currently a Managing Director of ASX listed TFS Corporation Ltd, Chair of Council at John XXIII College, Perth and a Board Member at Celebrate WA.
MANAGING DIRECTOR - Leigh Junk
Mr Junk is a Mining Engineer with 25 years’ experience, and held senior positions in several Western Australian mining companies including WWC Resources, Pilbara Manganese and Mincor Operations.
In 2000 Mr Junk started the private mining company Donegal Resources Pty Ltd, which was successful in purchasing and re commissioning several Nickel operations around Kambalda W.A. Donegal was later sold to Canadian company Brilliant Mining Corp during the Nickel boom in late 2006. Over the next 10 years Mr Junk was a Director of several public companies in the Mining and Financial sectors in Australia and Canada.
Mr Junk started as Managing Director of Doray Minerals Ltd in January 2017.
Mr Junk was the recipient of the 2003 Ernst & Young “Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award” and the 2007 W.A Business News “40 Under 40 Award”.
NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Jay Stephenson
Jay has been involved in business development for over 20 years including approximately 16 years as Director, Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary for various listed and unlisted entities in resources, manufacturing, wine, hotels and property. He has been involved in business acquisitions, mergers, initial public offerings, capital raisings, business restructuring as well managing all areas of finance for companies.
Jay is currently a non-executive Director of Drake Resources Limited, Strategic Minerals Corporation NL and Aura Energy Limited as well as Company Secretary for a number of ASX listed resource and industrial companies.
NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR - Peter Alexander
Peter Alexander is a geologist by profession and has over 30 years experience in mineral exploration and mining in Australia and overseas. Peter was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Dominion Mining Ltd from 1997 until his retirement in January 2008, at which time he continued as a Non-Executive Director until the takeover by Kingsgate Consolidated in 2010. Peter is currently a Non-Executive Director of Kingsgate.
Peter managed the startup and operation of Dominion’s Challenger gold mine in South Australia and, under Peter’s management, Dominion won the Gold Mining Journal’s “Gold Miner of the Year” three years in succession.
CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER - Jon Latto
Jon is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years experience gained locally and internationally. Prior to joining Doray Minerals Limited, Jon was Chief Financial Officer of ASX listed Tanami Gold NL for approximately 6 years, a period which included the transition to production from its high grade Coyote underground operation. Prior to this, Jon worked with Ernst & Young in Australia, America and India on projects primarily related to finance function reform. Jon has also held financial roles with Iluka Resources Limited in Australia and Cable & Wireless Plc and Halifax Bank of Scotland in London. Jon holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Western Australia and is also a qualified Chartered Secretary.
FINANCIAL CONTROLLER / COMPANY SECRETARY - Iain Garrett
Iain is a qualified financial professional with extensive commercial and public practice experience. He was previously Financial Controller and Company Secretary of Crescent Gold Limited, a top 10 listed Australian gold producer and explorer. Iain worked for one of the Big Four accounting firms in Africa and the UK before moving to Australia in 2004.
Iain has a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Cape Town and is a Fellow Member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants.
CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER - Rod Jacobs
Rod is a graduate of the Western Australian School of Mines with over 30 years’ operations and senior management experience, including site operations, project management, permitting, feasibility, closure, and rehabilitation responsibilities.
Rod’s experience covers both open cut and underground hard rock operations utilising a variety of mining and processing methods for a variety of commodities including gold, base metals, and mineral sands. He has successfully managed operations in sensitive environments, within areas of multiple land use and a variety of community settings, both in Australia and overseas.
GENERAL MANAGER - GEOLOGY & EXPLORATION - Mark Cossom
Mark has over 19 years’ experience in exploration, resource development and mine operations in both Australia and PNG.
He joined Doray in mid-2010 to manage the development and feasibility study into the Andy Well Gold Project. Following the successful construction and commissioning of Andy Well, Mark has been responsible for managing geology and exploration operations for Doray Minerals.
Prior to Doray, Mark spent about 10 years at Harmony Gold, in both Australia and PNG, where he was involved in several exploration, feasibility and mine operational roles, including the major Golpu extension discovery in PNG.
Mark has an Honours degree in Applied Geology from Curtin University and a Masters degree in Mineral Economics from the Western Australian School of Mines. He is also a member of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.
REGISTERED MANAGER - DEFLECTOR GOLD MINE - Richard Holder
Richard Holder BEng(Hons), CP(Met), FAusIMM, PMP, RPEQ, GAICD, DipBusMan, DipOHS
Richard has over 25 years’ local and international (PNG and South America) experience progressing through research, development, operational, project and managerial roles in complex polymetallic, silver and refractory gold operations.
Richard has been the General Manager at two underground operations, developing, implementing and monitoring of strategic and operational plans under dynamic and challenging environments to deliver safe, optimal operational performance and compliance.
Other areas of expertise include due diligence reviews, mergers, feasibility studies, commissioning and closure plans, stakeholder engagement, automation, project audits and the development and implementation of project improvement plans.
Richard was appointed Registered Manager for the Deflector Gold Mine in April 2017.
